Heather was born in the small Northern Virginia town of Woodbridge, roughly 20 miles south of D.C. Growing up in suburbia proved to be a challenge for Heather, who didn’t really fit in with any social group. She found solace and inspiration in books and art, filling sketchbook after sketchbook while basically living in libraries during her adolescence. College proved a chance to grow socially and even make friends (gasp). College was also where Heather reacquainted herself with her old friend, art. After getting her associates from community college, she transferred to George Mason and changed her major from music to new media arts. Heather now uses digital painting techniques to create colorful, hyperactive yet lonely landscapes and characters that she puts little bits of herself into; not to the egotistical Mary Sue extent, however. She currently lives in Northern Virginia where she inspires and is inspired by her husband, Alexander.
